Update from Turkey

We received the following update from Jeremy & Alyssa Harris in Turkey and wanted to pass it along to you.

Hi Everyone,

We just wanted to let everyone know that the earthquake that hit Turkey today was not even close to our region. We have been getting a lot of questions so we thought this would be the easiest way to communicate. We should have an update coming your way soon.

Blessings,

The Harris’

Good Friday Praise & Prayer

On Good Friday, April 2nd, SCF will be hosting a night of “Praise & Prayer.”  We will spend time in worship with each of the songs taking us to the cross of Jesus.  We want to remember all He did for us on the day “He bore our sins in His body on the tree, that we might die to sin and live to righteousness” (I Peter 2:24).

We will also simply spend time in His presence, praying for SCF - it’s leaders, ministries and people.  We will pray for those we are trying to connect with in our “Each One Reach One” emphasis.  Together, we want to raise “the shield of faith” so that God might strengthen us and use us to his glory in NWA and beyond.

Plan on sharing this Good Friday evening with the SCF family!

Welcome to our World!

We want to congratulate Loren & Jeremy on the birth of Summer Lynn Eoff.  Summer was born on on Friday, Feb. 26th, and checked in weighing 7 lbs. & 12 oz.  After a brief stay in the hospital, Mom and Daughter are now at home - adjusting to a baby’s “upside down” schedule!

We also congratulate the maternal grandparents, Ralph & Melva Hudson, and great grandparents, Debbie & Alan Baker.

Be praying for this family as they now accept the task of raising Summer, “in the training and instruction of the Lord” (Eph. 6:4).

Chili Cook-off & Concert

SCF will be hosting the annul “Chili Cook-off” on Sunday, March 14th!  The fun and fellowship will begin at 5:00 p.m.  Bring your best recipe and put it to the test to see how it stands up to the competition.  A “select and secret panel” will make the choice of the 2010 champion!

After the fellowship time, around 6:00 p.m. we will move to the sanctuary for a time of worship and celebration with Gracie Smithee.  Gracie will serve as the worship leader, as well as share some of her own original worship songs.  We want to support her as she grows as a worship leaders and as a musician.

We want to offer our congratulations to Payton & Cheryl (Shulz) Phillips who were married here at SCF on Saturday, February 20th.  They exchanged their vows before God in a “family” celebration.

Join in praying for this new couple, that God might bless them richly and use them to be a blessing to us!

India Outreach to Grace Orphanage April 2-15

In April our goal is to dig two wells and install water pumps for two of the locations ($1500 x2 = $3000). Currently we receive our water supply from the government on a daily basis, however, this supply is not adequate for the number of children and staff we are currently housing.  We will also be visiting potential locations for the Grace Christian School we hope to build late next year.   Please pray for the location, funding, and future growth of the Grace Orphanage projects.  There are plenty of opportunities to minister to the boys, girls and staff.

By the end of this year we will have the girls orphanage fully occupied with 30 girls.  $50.00 a month will supply a child with food, clothing, education and medical care.  Monthly expenses for the house’s continue to grow.  Your prayers are greatly appreciated.  We ask you pray and seek God for your role in this ministry.  Please contact Kiran at 871-6372 with any questions.

We love you all,

Kiran and Rhonda Dongardive

A Candlelight Christmas Eve

SCF will gather as a family on Thursday, December 24th at 5:30 pm for our annual “Candlelight Christmas Eve” service.  This will be a very musical service, featuring our Praise Team members as they lead us in worship.  The Biblical narrative will be presented as dramatic reading, along with some favorite Christmas carols.  All this will lead us to the Lord’s Table for a special communion service.  Plan on sharing this evening with the rest of the SCF family.
